ARTIST STATEMENT

Geometry and light enter my mind’s eye as I sit in stillness in the early hours before dawn. I record these images in my notebook as they fade into silence. Later in my studio, I decipher them with layers of luminous and opaque paint, minimalist abstract forms, and moving images. These small daily rituals, reveal a message that takes hours, months, years, maybe even lifetimes, to decode.

For over three decades, I have been delving into the ethereal qualities of geometric abstraction. My current practice is centered on painting, sculpture, prints, and video installation. Earlier work includes net art and digital animation.

My work is both intimate and timeless in all its varied mediums. The through line lies below the surface of things, in the play between structure and luminosity. My creative endeavors in all its varied forms, are a conduit for a kind of personal and collective alchemical transformation.
