The energetic through line in my work lies below the surface of things, rendering a way to form through the formless. My practice is an ongoing exploration into the ethereal qualities of embodiment and abstraction through geometry, line, and algorithm.
Nature and a rich ancestral history have been a constant source of grounding and inspiration for me since childhood. I was born in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by old-growth trees and mountains, to parents of Filipino and Indian descent. My maternal grandfather was a respected healer and worked in the medical field in the Philippines. My paternal grandfather was a Sanātana Dharma priest, and served in a small village temple in South India.
At the age of 11, I was first initiated in my grandfather’s village. Later as an adult, I received mantra diksha (initiation) into the spiritual science of Sri Vidya. Guided by the sacred elements of ritual and healing, I continue to honor this legacy and serve as a visual artist living in New York City.
